ACCESSIBILITY
The COPE 2025 AGM is an in-person meeting at the 411 Seniors centre.
The meeting room is wheelchair accessible. There will be Corsi-Rosenthal air filtration on site as well as free masks available.
We are also arranging for an accessibility option to participate from home for people for which in-person attendance would pose a barrier to participation. Please reach out to [email protected] if you would like to sign up.
RUNNING FOR THE COPE EXECUTIVE
- We're looking for passionate and committed people who want to fight for Vancouver and rock the boat on housing, affordability, climate, reconcliation, equity, and justice.
- By our constitution, the executive carries the executive authority of the organization as our primary elected body.
- The executive deals primarily with the day-to-day maintenance of COPE including paperwork, coordination, digital systems, and organizing/strategy.
- We ask for a monthly commitment of at least 8 hours for meetings and related work.
- We ask that COPE executive members participate in at least 2 committees.
Declare your intent to run and submit a nomination package here.
JOINING A COPE WORKING COMMITTEE
Following the AGM, we'll be breaking into groups to talk through some upcoming committee work, and recruit people to get more involved in COPE.
- COPE Committees are an important part of the COPE infrastructure. This is the best way to get more involved if you're new, or aren't sure how much time you'll have.
- We're currently emphasizing recruitment for three critical committees:
- The Research and Communications Committee
- The Membership & Organizing Committee
- The Climate Justice Policy Committee
- The Research and Communications Committee
- We want to grow organically and we'll be expanding our list of committees in the coming weeks and months. Let us know if there's another committee area of interest to you.
