COPE Vancouver will be holding our first press conference of the 2022 municipal election campaign on Thursday, September 29th, 2022, at 11am.

  • Where: Rental building at 133 E 7th ave, Vancouver, BC (just West of Main St)
  • When: Thursday, September 29th, 11am to noon

At this press conference, COPE will make our first major policy announcement of the campaign: COPE’s Renters Platform. COPE City Council candidates Jean Swanson, Breen Ouellette, Nancy Trigueros, and Tanya Webking will lay out the components of the Renters Platform.

They will be accompanied by Vancouver tenants who are facing outrageous conditions in their buildings, including:

  • Rents being jacked from $500 per month to $1,800 per month
  • Rental units being illegally subdivided in two and rents doubled
  • Tenants being pushed out so that REITs can make record profits

Finally, the press conference will conclude with a presentation of the dramatic situation facing renters in this election. Featuring COPE’s ‘play within the election play’:
