On October 6th, Vancouver City Council will be considering the implementation of real rent control in our city's Single Resident Occupancy hotels. These units are quickly being gentrified and becoming unaffordable for our city's most vulnerable residents and those living on CPP, OAS, and social assistance. These are Vancouver's housing of last resort, and losing them will cause Vancouver's homelessness emergency to explode.
