The annual rent increase this year is 4%. When renters move landlords can jack the rent as high as they want, incentivizing renovictions. With average market rent at $2,000 for a 1-bedroom, tenants are stressed with few options.
Enough is enough! It’s time to bring real rent control to Vancouver.
Join the COPE team for the first rally of the 2018 municipal election campaign. COPE city council candidates Jean Swanson, Derrick O’Keefe, and Anne Roberts will announce a plan to get rent under control in Vancouver.
