In 2018 COPE ran seven candidates on a unified City We Need platform, 4 of whom were elected: Jean Swanson to City Council, Barb Parrott to School Board, and John Irwin and Gwen Giesbrecht to Parks Board.

Diana Day: Advocate for the Indigenous Community and successful culturally safe learning environments for vulnerable youth, Former Co-Vice Chair of the VSB District PAC. She ran for COPE in 2014, 2017 and then again in 2018. Diana won 46,631 votes in the 2018 School Board election and ranked 10th -- losing the election by only 631 votes. Twitter: @DianaDaydream

Derrick O’Keefe: A lifelong grassroots activist and organizer, Derrick has been an integral part of the movements for peace, social justice, and media democracy in Vancouver for the past two decades. Derrick, even though running for the first time for public office, won 38,305 votes and ranked 14th in the council election -- losing by just over 5000 votes.

Anne Roberts: Former journalism instructor (retired) Langara College and former COPE School Board Trustee and City Councillor. Lifelong peace and justice advocate especially for women’s rights and for the Palestinian people. Ending just two places before Derrick at the 16th place, Anne's vote count was 36,531. She lost the election by close to 7000 votes.
